Wonderful words for terrible times. A great reminder that democracy is like a garden that needs constant tending, to prevent infestation of intrusive species.

Beautiful poem. A 6th grader wrote one and shared it with her teacher. I asked permission to put it on my informational spreadsheet (last tab)!

Use/share this spreadsheet as a resource to call/email/write members of Congress, the Cabinet and news organizations. Reach out to those in your own state, and those in a committee that fits your topic.

This right here—THIS is why we write. This is what the resistance sounds like when it sings. Dave Joseph Jr.’s poetic response to “Living Under an Unjust Government” is a searing anthem for a generation that refuses to bow to tyranny. Let it be read aloud. Let it echo in schools, streets, sanctuaries. Let it march beside us.

Democracy is not a noun to be admired. It is a verb to be lived.

We are not done. We are not going anywhere. The ink is not dry.
