Scripture: “What more was there to do for my vineyard, that I have not done in it? When I looked for it to yield grapes, why did it yield wild grapes?” – Isaiah 5:4 (ESV)
Reflection:
Even in a tended vineyard, wild things can grow. The wilderness isn’t always external—sometimes it creeps into our hearts, growing in tangled, untamed ways.
God lovingly prunes us not to punish, but to purify. He’s after fruit, not just activity. Wilderness seasons can expose what we’ve been producing—bitterness instead of joy, self-promotion instead of surrender.
But in God’s hands, even wild grapes can become wine. The wilderness can turn rebellion into redemption.
Prayer Whisper:
Prune me, Lord. Remove what doesn’t reflect You and help me bear fruit that lasts.
Still Waters Prompt:
Ask God to show you any “wild grapes” in your heart. Write what surrendering them might look like.
